How WaterLakeLevel Works
1. Official Telemetry Only
We query direct, supported REST APIs from the U.S. Geological Survey and NOAA every 15 to 30 minutes. We never scrape unverified operator web pages or crowd-sourced forums.
2. Strict Physical Matching
A lake only appears in our directory if an official monitoring gauge is physically confirmed to measure that waterbody. We never substitute a river gauge miles away as a stand-in.
3. Decades of Context
A raw elevation number rarely tells the whole story. Our engine compares every reading against 30 to 100+ years of daily records to reveal true seasonal percentiles and flood risks.
