How Personal Elevation Thresholds Work
Standard government lake charts tell you how far a reservoir is below full pool, but they don't know the exact elevation of your dock cradle, boat ramp end, or boathouse electrical outlet.
By setting personal elevation alerts in your watchlist:
- Low-Water Threshold: Set this to your boat lift's minimum operating depth (e.g. 642.0 ft). When water levels drop near this elevation, you receive an immediate visual caution indicator so you can move your boat to deeper water or trailer it before getting grounded.
- High-Water Threshold: Set this to your seawall cap or lowest electrical junction box (e.g. 683.5 ft). When storm inflows push water toward this level, you can tie off extra dock lines or shut off dock shore power safely.
